Terms and Conditions

  1. All packages include a personally written ceremony and a selection of vows, at least one meeting and lodgement of your legal paperwork to Births, Deaths and Marriages (small additional fee charged by BDM). We can also assist with the paperwork required for you to change your name after you are married.
  2. Fees include direct contact with the Celebrant, either in person, via email, phone or Skype.
  3. A non-refundable fee of $200.00 is required for all bookings upon confirmation of your date and time, with balance due four weeks prior to wedding date.  Payment plan available on request and progress payments are acceptable.
  4. Legal paperwork and required ID must be received by Celebrant no later than one month prior to your wedding date.
  5. All prices stated above are for Gold Coast Weddings. Please contact us for pricing outside Gold Coast areas.
  6. Rehearsal included only in Packages 3 and 4.
  7. In the event of a cancellation by the couple, the deposit will be retained by Runaway Bride Elopements however a refund of the balance will be issued if four week’s notice is received in writing by the Celebrant.
  8. In the event of significant changes by the couple, to the original booking, additional fees may apply, (up to $200), depending on new requirements.  In the event Runaway Bride is no longer able or willing to fulfil the booking due to the amendments, we have the right to cancel the booking and retain the booking fee.  (Changes to ceremony start time, location, professional morals).
  9. In the event of any unforeseen circumstance or sickness prior to the wedding that preclude the Celebrant from carrying out the ceremony as per the original booking, a suitable authorised Celebrant will be appointed and you will be advised accordingly.  No refund of monies will be given but the newly appointed Celebrant’s fees will be covered under this agreement.
  10. Optional extras are available, at an extra cost to the couple, such as a sand ceremony, padlock ceremony, ring blessing, candle lighting, memory box and other rituals. Celebrant will assist couple on where to and how to arrange these extra inclusions.
  11. Couples can, at their own expense, add on to our packages and supply their own additional photographer,and/or videographer, extra styling, additional flowers for bridal party, cake.  Please discuss with us and we can source these items for you.
  12. Runaway Bride has the right to change the outside location of the ceremony, to an indoor or undercover option, up to 4 hours prior to ceremony commencement time, if bad weather is predicted.  This will be discussed with the couple with the intention a mutually suitable alternative agreed upon.
  13. Photography includes up to 2 hours and up to 100 photos provided on USB.
  14. PA System provided by Celebrant so ceremony is audible for guests.  Access to Celebrant’s PA for ceremony music to be supplied by couple on iPhone.   (Celebrant has the right to refuse use of PA if weather is likely to adversely affect the equipment).
  15. Any fees charged by local Council are the responsibility of the couple.
  16. Couples must apply direct to local council to lodge their application for their beach or park approval.  Once confirmation approval received, copy of this must be forwarded to the Celebrant.
  17. Any resources (ceremony wording) created by Runaway Bride Elopements remain under copyright and permission must be sought to use or share the writing, in all or part, with any other person other than the couple being married under this agreement.  Any unauthorised sharing will be considered a breach of copyright law.
  18. Legal paperwork to be finalised by the couple with the Celebrant no later than one calendar month before the wedding (unless shortening of time has been granted by authorised authority).
  19. All final details, including ceremony wording and styling, to be finalised by the couple with the Celebrant no later than 7 days prior to the wedding date.
  20. The Celebrant has the right to refuse to perform the marriage ceremony if  the Bride and Groom act in a manner that implies they may be intoxicated or under the influence of any drugs or substances that may inhibit the bride and groom fully understanding the legal commitment they are making to each other. A new date will be agreed upon.
  21. The couple must disclose to the Celebrant any sensitive information such as family disputes or violent guests, that may impact on the effective, uninterrupted delivery of the ceremony on the day.
  22. In the event the commencement of the ceremony is delayed more than 15 minutes after the agreed starting time, the Celebrant has the right to proceed to the next ceremony if one is booked.  The Celebrant will return at a later time to solemnise the marriage.  If necessary, due to the amended ceremony time, the Celebrant has the right to shorten the marriage ceremony.
  23. In the event the Celebrant is late, due to unforeseen circumstances, ie car breakdown, stuck in traffic, the Celebrant will call the “other contact” person stated on the Booking Form and advise her/his situation and expected time of arrival and will do everything within her control to accommodate the needs of the bride and groom.
  24. The couple must state on the Booking Form alternative ceremony location if required due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather, increase in number of guests.  The Celebrant will not perform an outdoor ceremony in steady or heavy rain, hail, gale force winds, electrical storms, extreme heat or any other unpleasant circumstances determined by the Celebrant.
